Blue Shark

Blue sharks can reach up to 3.8 m (12 1/2 ft) but average size on the Pacific Coast is 1.8 m (6 feet). Blue sharks are one of the most mobile sharks and commonly migrate 1,200-1,700 nautical miles. They sometimes travel in groups working together to surround prey. On days when the ocean is smooth, blue sharks are often seen at the surface with the tip of their dorsal fin and tail fin exposed. Key features are their long sleek body, narrow head, and iridescent blue back.
