Atlantic Manta Ray |
||||||||||||
The Atlantic manta ray grows to 6-14 feet and lives between 0-40 feet of depth. Atlantic manta rays have a pronounced head and snout, and greatly enlarged wing-like pectoral fins. Due to the manta's shape, it is sometimes said that they "fly" through the water rather than swim. They filter plankton in the open ocean by funneling them in their mouth with a pair of cephalic fins. |
